Don’t Get Mad, Get Even...

And that’s exactly what these three women did.

Brenda, Elise, and Annie, old school friends played by Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, and Diane Keaton, are reunited when they attend the funeral of a former school friend. Over lunch, all three women discover from one another that their husbands have ditched them for younger women. Vowing to get their husbands back, The First Wives Club starts to take shape.

If you’re into light-hearted comedy, endless gags, heart-warming friendship, here's your film, girls!

Empathy and laughter help pass the time as you watch this movie. The supporting cast is superb, including Maggie Smith, who takes on her role as Gunilla Garson Goldberg so very well, indeed. Elizabeth Berkley plays Phoebe LaVelle, the dumb blonde high school girl who fakes her age to get fame and riches with one of the women’s husbands. Dan Hedaya plays Morton Cushman, Brenda's TV-commercial-making husband. Stephen Collins plays Aaron Paradis, Annie's unstoppable (until now) businessman husband. Victor Garber is Bill Atchison, Elise's acting manager and husband-from-hell.

Not only is the supporting cast great, but the music is also another great attribute to this film, with songs from, The Eurythmics, Aretha Franklin, Diana King, Billy Porter, and many others.

The First Wives Club is very much a woman's movie, showing the strength in women as it should be and putting the men in their place. I watched it once and then watched it again just to appreciate the points of view of the three women portrayed in the film. I'd love to say more about the film itself, however I fear anything I could say would be an injustice to such a wonderful film
