This is a digitally remastered collection of hits from this incredibly talented rock and roll artist from the ‘70s. And although most the tracks here were recorded live, the sound is excellent.
The guitar stylings are powerful and complex, the vocals, sweet and soothing, and the lyrics are cheerful, and, at times, a bit romantic.
Included here are two of my favorites that were at the top of the charts during the summer of ’76, “Baby, I Love Your Way” and “Do You Feel Like We Do.” The former is a gorgeous ballad, wherein Frampton adds an extra syllable to the word “hesitate” and pulls it off marvelously. The latter is just a nice, long steamy jam.
The upbeat and charismatic “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours” precedes the very catchy “I Can’t Stand It No More.” “I’m In You” is another soft and lovely piece. Everything here is good.
This disc brings me back to a time when life was simple and happy; back when summer vacations lasted three whole months. This is comfort music.
