I probably shouldn’t admit that in the days of my youth, I had this one in vinyl. In 1993 this can’t-miss classic was re-mastered from the original album, released back in 1975. At the time Toys in the Attic put Aerosmith at the top of the charts. It is the third of many albums recorded by this well-seasoned band.

It’s not Aerosmith’s fault that “Sweet Emotion,” although an excellent tune, has been grossly overplayed on the airwaves. There are a lot of gems here that deserve as much, or more, recognition. My favorite is the delightfully uplifting ballad, “You See Me Crying.” Steven Tyler’s vocals on this track, and throughout the album, are gorgeous and soulful. “Big Ten Inch Record” is bluesy yet upbeat with charming lyrics. “No More No More” is extremely catchy with magnificent guitar stylings.

Aerosmith has truly withstood the test of time better than any band from their era and this album is by far the best of their earlier releases.
