This is an upbeat and playful listen, rich with gorgeous vocals and stellar musicianship. The mix here isn’t the cleanest, but the talent definitely makes up for it.

It opens with “Electroshook,” a lovely instrumental with some sweet surf undertones. “They Don’t Have to Tell Me Now” is a delightful duet with wonderful vocal harmonies, slightly akin to that Simon and Garfunkel sound - minus the funk. “If You Lindy” is romantic, very danceable and ends way too soon. “Must Be Love” is catchy with a great beat and enchanting lyrics. “No Place Like Earth” is a short number (just vocals and guitar) with a bit of a Bob Dylan feel to it. “Bill and Frank” is a nice smoky jam with some intriguing keyboard work. “Bob Throws in the Towel Calypso” is one of my absolute favorite tracks on this disc, with its danceable, tropical theme and engaging lyrics. It closes out with “Teenage Prayer,” a mix of spoken and sung vocals, charming lyrics and a distinctive 1950s sound.

Weekend on Mt. Cod is a diamond in the rough; a rare, delectable auditory treat for fine connoisseurs of colorful, creative music. There’s a whole load of talent and a little bit of something for everyone here.
