This disc features a colorful mix of genres with something for just about everyone. It’s upbeat, danceable and jam-packed with enormous talent.

It opens up with Beck’s “Black Tambourine.” The lyrics on this one aren’t exactly cheerful, but the beat more than makes up for it. Next up is the Bodyrockers with the sizzling “I Like the Way.” This one had me singing along at the top of my lungs in a voice that only sounds good when I’m driving my car. “Take Your Mama” by the Scissor Sisters is a danceable track with sweet vocal harmonies. My absolute favorite tune on this album is Weezer’s “Island in the Sun,” a sublimely feel-good ditty that’s guaranteed to have your feet tapping. When I heard Wolfmother’s “Dimension,” I was certain that I was listening to The Offspring. “Destination Diamonds” by Diamond Nights rocks nicely with a sound remarkably similar to that of ELO. Spiderbait’s “Black Betty” has some wailing vocals and a good strong bass line. “Bout to Get Ugly” by Ronson features Rhymefest and Anthony Hamilton. This has a unique blend of metal and R&B that somehow manages to work beautifully. Domino’s “Tropical Moonlight” has a steamy Latino beat and some delightful trumpet stylings. “Wicked Game” by Giant Drag is hauntingly and beautiful. And Buckcherry’s “Lit Up” just left me wanting more.

This is a fine collaboration, a real crowd-pleaser, and would work well for any occasion.
