Ron White’s comedy continues to endure in the same coarse style that his fans have come to know and love. Those who enjoy a good dirty joke and a bit of toilet humor (quite literally, actually) will fully embrace his latest show, Behavioral Problems. Because there’s so much vulgarity woven throughout the comedy bits, watching the censored version on Comedy Central isn’t nearly as satisfying as watching the DVD, which is the only way to really appreciate the full force of his punch lines.

Watch Mr. White smoke and drink his way through a multitude of jokes, inspired by his blunt-force attitude and his personal experiences, covering everything from how he got even with a lazy valet to his advice for a stress-free marriage. What’s especially entertaining is to watch, though, is how he expertly strings punch lines together throughout the show, wrapping the whole night into one big joke. While Mr. White does flub a line every now and then, his recovery is just as amusing as his seamlessly executed jokes.

Overall, Behavioral Problems is funny and entertaining, but it just doesn’t seem to have the same level of candor and energy that his previous work in You Can’t Fix Stupid did. Maybe it’s his Dennis Leary-inspired hairstyle that throws him off. But, for whatever reason, his jokes do hit the bar—they just can’t seem to vault over it.

In addition, the amount of bonus material on the DVD is meager at best, which is a huge letdown. There aren’t many extras, except for some jokes that were cut from the main feature’s content. Why these clips were cut is a complete mystery, too, because this is where the greatest gems of Ron White’s comic genius truly reside on this disc.

Mr. White’s diehard fans will savor this DVD as an addition to their comedy collection, and, for everyone else, renting Behavioral Problems will keep you entertained for the evening.
