Some people believe that fate will lead them to the love of their life—that the universe will send them an unmistakable message that someone is just meant to be. In the breezy rom-com Dream On by author Angie Hockman, one woman dreams up the perfect man—and fate leads her right to him.

The story tries to start fresh with young lawyer Cass Walker after a car accident left her in a coma for six days. When she woke, she was left with the memories of a months-long relationship with sweet, handsome businessman Devin—a man who doesn’t exist. Finally recovered from the accident and her injuries, Cass is ready to move on with her life—to a new apartment with her best friend, Brie, and a summer internship at one of the most prestigious firms in Cleveland. And then she walks into a flower store and runs right into the man of her dreams.

When Cass discovers that Devin does, in fact, exist, it seems like it’s just meant to be—and the two find an instant connection that they’re both eager to explore. But, of course, their story isn’t without its challenges along the way. Devin encourages Cass to be the best lawyer she can be—to rise through the ranks at her prestigious law firm. But sometimes she feels like he might be too caught up in the prestige—both in her title and in his own role in his father’s real estate development company. Sometimes the pressure gets to be a little too much—especially as she spends her days fighting for her job with a fellow summer intern—and it makes her wonder if there’s something she’s missing.

As Cass’s story plays out, though, it’s about more than just her fated love story. It’s a light and enjoyable novel that takes readers through the neighborhoods of Cleveland during warm summer days—to celebrations and street fairs that make the city settings come to life. And thanks to her friends—both new and old—Cass spends the summer healing, falling in love, and learning more about what’s really important to her.

With its charming characters and its story of self-discovery, Dream On is as cool and sweet as an ice cream cone on a summer day. It’s frothy and uplifting, with plenty of romance and summer fun, making it an entirely beach-worthy read.
