Just Married

It’s often said that a couple is hit with the reality of marriage once the honeymoon’s

over. For Tom (Ashton Kutcher) and Sarah (Brittany Murphy), reality hits as soon as the

honeymoon begins.

Like most couples, Tom and Sarah get caught up in the

fun and romance of their relationship and decide to tie the knot, even though Sarah’s

upper-class family discourages it. But Tom and Sarah each into the marriage with a

pretty big secret (hers involving an old flame, his involving the death of her beloved

dog), and once they for their honeymoon in Europe, things only get worse. Tom turns out

to be the stereotypical Stupid American, and Sarah disappears with the previously

mentioned old flame, Peter (Christian Kane), when he mysteriously shows up in Venice (and

he’s staying in the same hotel, too—what a coincidence!).

I think every

couple should see this movie before getting married. Really. It makes it painfully

clear that no matter how much you love each other, it takes a whole lot more than love to

make a marriage work. In fact, if Britney Spears had seen this movie, I’m pretty sure

that whole Vegas fiasco would have never happened.

Don’t expect any

Academy Award-winning performances in this one. Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy

aren’t exactly Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. In fact, Brittany Murphy’s mere

presence on the screen often made my head hurt. But think of Just Married as the

sequel to Meet the

Parents. Same old family problems, same old pet problems, same old ex who can’t

let go… If you like Meet the Parents, you’ll like Just Married, too.

It’ll make you laugh, it’ll make you cringe, and it’ll leave you with a warm, fuzzy

feeling in the end.
