Wolfmother

“Why can’t bands just make music like they did in the old days?” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this question – my cue to nod my head sadly in agreement. Why? Given the rock audience’s obvious preference for that period of time between ’67 and ’73 when most of what is considered classic rock was recorded and performed by legends like Zeppelin and Sabbath, the Who, the Beatles, etc…etc. It strains the mind to wonder why, exactly, bands don’t make music like this anymore.

Those days are now over, since the release of Wolfmother’s debut. A combination of early Led Zeppelin energy and Black Sabbath (original line-up) power, the recordings sound like they were made using original equipment from that era, but with the sound quality we associate with modern recordings. It’s incredible how the music could credibly pass as classic, even though it’s new.

This one is a simple sell, if you like Zeppelin and Sabbath, you’ll like this. Honestly, I’m the last person to trust someone when they tell me they just know I’ll like something, but in this case, they were right. Wolfmother is a safe bet for anyone who likes classic rock. It has every element.

So, come aboard, hop on the “Love Train” (song 12 on the album) and get ready to enjoy some brand-new classic rock and roll!
