Addicted to Love

Rachael Henderson is fed up with romance. After her fiancé leaves her at the altar, choosing a football contract over her, she gets in her car and drives straight for Valentine, Texas. She’s not sure what’s next, but defacing the “WELCOME TO VALENTINE, TEXAS, ROMANCE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD” billboard by painting the sign’s sultry Marilyn Monroe lips a gothic Marilyn Mansion black seems like a good start. Unfortunately, her vandalism lands her in jail, and the mayor is not about to let it slide. She ends up having to remain in Valentine, doing community service. But
being arrested by Sheriff Brody Carlton isn’t such a bad thing, is it?

Oh, no…here she goes again, romanticizing a man. But Brody is different…isn’t he?

Sheriff Brody Carlton never expected to see a bride clinging to the town’s welcome billboard with a can of black paint, brushing away. He didn’t put much faith in romance, either—and definitely not in love, since his wife left him after he’d returned home
from Iraq with one less leg. Still, Rachael was committing a crime, and he had to do his duty. She’s one petite blonde firecracker, though, and his greatest challenge won’t be keeping her safe from irate townsfolk. It’ll be keeping himself from falling in love with her.

When Rachael creates Romanceaholics Anonymous, the town becomes divided, and someone targets Rachael with mean, but not necessarily vicious, pranks. Brody can’t figure out whose side the perpetrator is on—the cynics’ or the romantics’—because he or she attacks Rachael before destroying the town’s romantic icons.

Addicted to Love has about the cutest beginning I’ve ever read—and I couldn’t wait to get into this book and experience these characters’ stories. If you’ve been burned by love more than once, you’ll relate to Rachael in ways that those who are always lucky in love never will. Brody, too, had me from the moment he said, “He sounds like a dumbass,” in response to Rachael’s explanation as to why her fiancé left her.

Lori Wilde brings romance fans a feel-good, laugh-out-loud read with Addicted to Love. Pick up a copy, and you just might learn that the man of your dreams might bring you peaches instead of flowers—and he could try to save you from a chocolate pie in the face instead of bullets.

Addicted to Love is one of the best romantic comedies I’ve read in a long time. Don’t miss it!
