This edition of Stolen from the Headlines introduces us to a man who was in an all-fired hurry, a guy who wanted to snack after hours, a man who threw out various and sundry items while driving, and a collector who struck gold at Goodwill.

Location, Location, Location

Roseville Police have arrested a man for attempted arson after he allegedly set the wrong house on fire. Christopher James Robinson, 20, of Elk Grove was arrested in Natomas.

Police say that Robinson set a fire at a home on Champagne Circle. The fire was quickly extinguished, and nobody was injured. Investigators ruled it was a case of arson.
Investigators say Robinson had gone to Roseville to contact someone he had a problem with, but he went to the wrong home. In fact, he had no connection to the people inside, but investigators say he started the fire thinking that he had the right home.

“Thinking” does not appear to be Robinson’s long suit.

Snack Attack

A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to a year of probation after being accused of breaking into a restaurant, munching on pizza, and guzzling beer before making off with $150.

Daulton Young of Pittsfield was connected to the break-in last summer at the East Side Cafe by police who traced two calls from the restaurant’s phone to Young’s girlfriend. The Berkshire Eagle reports that a judge continued the breaking and entering and larceny charges without a finding for a year to avoid entering a felony conviction on the 21-year-old’s record. Young was found guilty of a misdemeanor trespassing charge.

Cafe employees arrived the next day to discover a half-eaten pizza, an empty beer bottle, and two cash registers that had been pilfered.

His attorney says that Young has an alcohol problem.

Not to mention a bad case of the munchies.

Kitchen Sink Spared

A semi driver tossed items from his cab at police—including socks, shoes, and a small refrigerator—as he led them on a 34-mile chase in western Pennsylvania, authorities said.

“During the pursuit, the driver threw numerous items at pursuing troopers from the cab,” including a steel canister that struck a Greensburg State Police unit and disabled it, police said. The driver also threw a mini refrigerator before the truck was stopped with spike strips shortly after 3 a.m.

The driver, identified as Christopher Charles Boyer, 47, of Mifflintown, is charged with aggravated assault, fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless endangering, resisting arrest, and other counts. Court documents indicate he had requested representation by the public defender’s office, which rang unanswered Sunday.

The public defender’s office has a long-standing policy regarding weekend calls: Never on Sunday.

Get Your Diving Watches Here

Originally reported by MyWay.Com

A watch collector stumbled across a rare Swiss timepiece in a Phoenix secondhand store, bought it on sale for $5.99, and then sold it for $35,000.

Zach Norris said he went to a Goodwill store in January to look for a golf cart but took some time to peruse the watch section. It proved to be time well-spent. Norris said he was excited when he recognized the 1959 Jaeger-LeCoultre diving watch, he told KTVK-TV.

“I’ve found some stuff in the past that I have been really excited about and stoked, but this is one of those things you’re like, ‘One day, one day it will happen,’ and it happened for me,” Norris told the TV station.
