This is Spinal Tap

I consider This is Spinal Tap to be one of my all-time favorite movies. You don’t have to be a child of the 1980s to appreciate the story of this glam rock band falling on hard times (i.e., crowds finally realizing that “this band is swimming in a sea of retarded sexuality” and they no longer find it appealing) and denying it.

The rock group in the movie, Spinal Tap, having distinguished itself as “England’s Loudest Band,” has certainly seen better times but believes that this American tour is sure to catapult them back into the top 40. However, with their new album, Smell the Glove, getting stinker reviews, this could be a little tough. This movie is so funny it’s off the charts… which, of course, is Spinal Tap’s problem.

This movie is a cult classic. If you liked the irreverent documentary approach of Best in Show, this movie is right up your spandex… uh, alley.
