Play Time: Less than an hour

This is one of the best classic home board games that started out as a TV program. It is simple to play, but don’t let that fool you. It is difficult to master.

Typically, the game is played with four people, but it can be played with only two. You and your opponent take turns giving your partners one-word clues to try to get them to say the Password. The point value decreases for each clue given. The winner is determined by the highest score or by the best out of three games.

As with the TV game, you can also play The Lightning Round. If there is a tie between opposing teams, The Lightning Round can determine the winner. The timer is set for 60 seconds, and each team, in turn, tries to guess the most Passwords within the time allotted.

The biggest challenge of this game, other than being on the same wavelength as your partner, is NOT saying the Password. You know how it goes — just try not to say a particular word that is staring you in the face.

Password is for ages 8 to adult, but children under the age of 15 may have a difficult time with the game because of their limited vocabulary. There is also
the Password, Jr. Edition, designed especially for children.

Play the game and find out why stars like Carol Lawrence, Jimmy Stewart, Lucille Ball, Edie Gormet, Carol Burnett, Betty White, Bob Denver, and Jack Benny enjoyed appearing on the TV show.
