Star

My

introduction to this book was Pam’s appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

to launch this book. It’s a work of fiction—or is it? Jay pointed out the similarities

between Pam’s character, Star Wood Leigh, and Pam herself. For example, Pam was

discovered when her image was projected onto the Jumbotron at a football game in

Vancouver. Her character, Star, was discovered when her image was projected onto the

Jumbotron at a football game in Miami. Pam admitted to Jay that parts of the book are

loosely based on her own life and people she’s met in Hollywood.

The

favorable exposure from the Jumbotron leads young Star to a beer ad campaign, which leads

to the cover on Mann magazine. Star moves to Hollywood and spends time at the Mann

Castle, a fictionalized version of the Playboy Mansion.

Imagine what’s

it like to be a blonde bombshell with a body to die for. Men throw themselves at your

feet, put on their best game, pull up in a limo, and trip all over each other to catch

your eye. From the muscle-bound mechanic to the studio head, it’s raining men for Star

Wood Leigh! You would expect this book to be full of sex, and it

is.

Star is a fun Hollywood romp through a star’s eyes. In the end,

Star is left to make some decisions. She has a movie script in one hand and a rock star’s

phone number in her other hand. Hmmm…sounds like fiction imitating life again. You’ll be

able to read about her decision in the upcoming sequel, called Star Struck. I

highly recommend Star—it’s a titillating read.
