Out of Exile

With the very slight exception of the fourth track, “Doesn’t Remind Me,” this album will likely be a huge disappointment for any longstanding fan of a) The first Audioslave album; b)Rage Against the Machine; and c) Soundgarden. This is a lacklustre offering from a band that really needed to step things up and hit one out of the park. Out of Exile is far too slow, too soft and too basic to ever truly be considered a “good” album.

While the album has a similar sound to their self-titled debut, song-for-song this disc simply doesn’t stack-up to what fans have come to expect and it may well be time to start asking whether this band really has what it takes to stick around.

I would recommend that you consider purchasing the “Doesn’t Remind Me” single, or downloading it from a pay-site. The rest of the album really isn’t worth a cent.
