Snakes on a Plane was the hottest movie of the year, long before it even hit theaters. So it’s no surprise that some of the biggest names of the year have lent their songs to the hottest soundtrack of the year.
The Snakes soundtrack is surprisingly diverse—featuring everything from high-energy pop to hip-hop to reggae and even a couple of acoustic songs. But one thing is certain: the whole album is fun and, for the most part, extremely danceable. And it’s got the campy-yet-cool feel that everyone’s come to expect from all things Snakes on a Plane. It’s a great party album—one that’s best listened to at full volume.
The soundtrack is full of remixes from current favorites—like “The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide Is Press Coverage” by Panic! at the Disco, “I Can’t Take It” by All-American Rejects and “Of All the Gin Joints in All the World” by Fall Out Boy. There’s also “Ophidiophobia,” an original by Cee-Lo Green of Gnarles Barkley. But along with the current favorites, you’ll find plenty of names that you may not have heard before—but which are sure to become new favorites.
And, as an added bonus, you’ll find plenty of sound clips from the movie—which, of course, will only make you want to run right out to the theater to see the film phenomenon for yourself (if you haven’t already). The Snakes on a Plane soundtrack could very well be the best movie soundtrack since the Pulp Fiction soundtrack.
