Some authors are gifted storytellers right from their very first novel, seemingly able to create a spellbinding read with little effort. James LePore is one of those authors.

American Pat Nolan is called to Paris to identify the body of his estranged daughter, Megan, after an apparent suicide. As the medical examiner pulls back the sheet, Pat is shocked to see not his daughter but a stranger who resembles her. His gut tells him that Megan faked her death for a reason, and now she wants her father to find her. So he remains silent and lets the police think his daughter is dead.

A few days into his deception, Pat lets Catherine Laurence, a sympathetic Paris detective, in on his secret—mostly because he needs help in finding Megan. Pursued by the French Police and a band of international terrorists, Pat and Catherine grow closer in a desperate race to get to Megan before the police or the terrorists find her first.

Through a series of flashbacks, Megan’s story unfolds. As a freelance journalist, she finds herself in Morocco doing research. There, she meets Saudi businessman Abdel Lahani. They begin a scorching affair—until Megan discovers something about Abdel that terrifies her. Once she realizes the danger she’s in, it’s already too late.

Filled with danger and suspense against a backdrop of international intrigue, A World I Never Made is an amazing debut novel by author James LePore. Readers are taken into the shady world of terrorism and deception, where no one is safe. But, even more than that, it’s a story about a father who’s desperate to find his daughter before he loses her forever.

Pat Nolan has no special skills—he’s not a soldier or a special agent. He’s just a father who heads into danger armed with courage and love and a little bit of luck on his side. Sometimes men like him make the best heroes, and Pat lives up to the challenge.

The suspense will keep you white-knuckled as the plot unfolds with plenty of depth and intelligence. In fact, A World I Never Made kept me so enthralled that I simply didn’t want it to end. So if you’re looking for a new author who can knock you breathless with a clever thriller, James LePore is the one to pick.
