With the title being the same as Marilyn Monroe’s unfinished movie, I was hoping this one was an attempt to finish it. It wasn’t; however, I wasn’t disappointed, either.

Harry Sanborn (Jack Nicholson), is a sixty-three-year-old record producer known for dating women under thirty. Marin (Amanda Peet) is his latest fling. Their intimate weekend at the cottage is interrupted by Marin’s mother and aunt (Diane Keaton and Frances McDormand). Marin's mother, Erica Barry, is an attractive woman whose list of accomplishments include being a successful playwright and learning French--but that wouldn't attract Harry because she's over thirty.

After having a heart attack, Harry is forced to stay at the cottage to recuperate, and Erica is left to look after him while she attempts to finish her latest play. Suddenly, the tables are turned on the younger woman / older man stereotype when the good-looking young Doctor Julian Mercer (Keanu Reeves) falls for Erica.

This movie puts you on an emotional roller coaster. You'll laugh at the idea of taking a person’s blood pressure before having sex, cry at the thought of someone losing the love of their life, and laugh again at the "Dancing Henrys." (I won't give it away. You'll have to watch the movie to find out.) Throw in a romantic dinner in a Paris café, and you've got the latest movie on my favourites list.
