Jamie Foxx and Nia Long pair up in this silly comedy about a stick-up gone overboard. Chicago couple Dawson (Foxx), and his girlfriend, Rae, (Long), are on a romantic vacation somewhere near Las Vegas. The romance ends abruptly when Rae finds out how much Dawson really paid for an old souped-up car. Rae hitches a ride with a truckload of cowboys, leaving Dawson at a desert convenience store, locked out of his car.

It’s not Dawson’s day. He lost his girl, he can’t get the change to buy a hanger to unlock his car, and he’s mistaken for Puff Daddy. While he begs the clerk for change, his car is stolen. He calls for the sheriff to come file a report, but alas, the sheriff is also the referee at the town’s big baseball game. About this time, a low-rider pulls up with some jumpy Mexicans and a big wooden box on the back of the car. Yes, it’s a predictable heist—as if you didn’t know that would happen.

Add more oddball characters, like Gary Busey’s son, Jake (who unfortunately didn’t get his looks from his mother), and the rest is just ridiculous. Thank goodness there isn’t a sequel!

I’ll be honest, there are a few laughs—a couple of hearty guffaws—but it’s not enough to make this movie worth watching. If you’re a big Jamie Foxx fan, you might want to watch this movie—but only if someone loans it to you for free.
