Hi Christine,

This is a dream I had about a week ago. I was at a zoo and theme park (swimming and tanning) with two girlfriends. I didn’t recognize them as anyone I knew, but they were friends in the dream, perhaps from a class such as swimming.

I wandered away from the tanning area to a shallow river and waded through it. From there, I spotted wildlife through the grass. There were a few lions and there was a tiger in different areas. I went back to tell my friends. One of them waded across the river also, but this time the tiger had jumped forward to the edge of the river.

I said, ‘lets walk away slowly,’ which we did. The tiger (about 600 pounds) walked along behind and beside us, inspecting us. He pulled our eyelids open and lifted our hands, then dropped them. I was waiting for a park ranger to fire a dart gun at him, then I woke up.

Sincerely,
Walking with Tigers

Dear Walking,

Your dream begins in a relaxed, recreational atmosphere. This could suggest a need to take more time for yourself, whether it’s a couple of days off, a hobby you’d like to pursue or (as you mentioned) a class that you might enjoy. It could also be a reflection of your experiences during a recent respite that you’ve taken.

You wander off and begin wading through a shallow river. Bodies of water represent spirituality. A river represents peace and it is a unique symbol because it flows in one direction. This could mean that you feel a gentle current tugging you in a direction you’re resisting. You’re more intrigued by what’s on the other side than what’s down the road. And I would be too, especially if there was some cool wildlife to check out.

A lion is an auspicious symbol representing strength, power and success. (Seeing a few lions indicates all that with back.) Next the tiger approaches you and your friend. The tiger has a female energy and can represent subdued emotions or seduction. You make the excellent decision to walk away slowly, showing no fear. The tiger is curious, checking you out, yet doesn’t hurt you. That you awaken before the park rangers step in to help says that you have the situation under control.

This dream seems to be about overcoming obstacles, and its outcome points to happiness and success. Thanks for sharing it.

Best,
Christine
