Playing Time: 30 minutes

Bank “O” La is a clever game that teaches children to count—and save—money. Each player begins the game with dimes, nickels, and a quarter, for a total of $1.00. Players select their piggy bank, place their money in their pocket space on the board, and roll the die to begin moving clockwise around the bright, colorful game board.

As you move around the board, you take turns purchasing items from the vending machine, taking money from someone else’s pocket, putting money in someone’s pocket, or placing money in your piggy bank. Money changes hands many times from either the vending machine or another player, forcing players to keep a good account of their funds.

Players can use any combination of coins to place money in a pocket or piggy bank or to purchase the appropriate item from the vending machine when instructed. Once money is in your piggy bank, it’s safe from other players and from vending machine purchases.

The object of the game is to be the player with the most in your piggy bank at the end of the game. Play continues until only one player has money left in his pocket. He then takes that money from his pocket and puts it in his piggy bank. Then everyone gets to open their piggy banks to reveal their wealth.

Bank “O” La is a family game that’s easy to learn and fun to play. My kids loved the colorful game board and the cute little piggy banks—and they were excited to open their piggy banks when the game ended.

Bank “O” La really makes learning money values and counting money fun. It’s a great game that’s also a great investment. Not only will your kids love playing it—but it will help them learn about the value of money, too.
