While listening to Dynamik’s Now in Color, several other bands ran through my mind (Savage Garden and Snow Patrol, to name a couple). Yet these three young men also have a sound that’s all their own, which blends together to make something new and magnificent, with just a hint of ‘60s retro. And, thank goodness, they didn’t sound like just another boy band.

When the opening lyrics to “On the Radio” began, I knew I was going to like Dynamik. I’m a traditional girl who doesn’t often like to step into something totally off the wall. No need to worry about that with Dynamik—their voices are a pleasure to the ear, and their lyrics are inspiring without sounding sappy and overdone.

Cory Cramer, Pete Wilson, and Tim Kim make up the band, and they wrote all of the songs (with the exception of Electric Light Orchestra’s “Don’t Bring Me Down”). Profound and perceptive lyrics confirm that Dynamik is an outstanding talent in the world of music.

Other exceptional songs on the CD are “Decision” and “Gray City.” “Decision” is about having a choice to make, knowing what it should be, but being a little scared to step up and make it. “Gray City” draws you into change and a longing to go someplace different and take back control of your life, or create something new.

My favorite song on Now in Color is “Fix of Compromise.” If you read the lyrics, you’ll realize that they aren’t singing about a girl (or a guy) but about the One they worship. It’s about the constant war of Jekyll and Hyde in all believers—and, believe me, I so relate to that song. In fact, I’ve listened to it several times. It’s one of those songs that will make you hit the repeat button over and over.

I am truly tickled to have found such an awesome new band like Dynamik. These young men will go far in the music business, and I’ll follow their career all the way.
