Connecticut authorities, including a state trooper, said they can’t locate a mysterious object seen falling from the sky.

The police said the glowing green object, which some witnesses said was the size of a whale, was seen falling from the sky in the Litchfield area around 2 a.m. Thursday morning, and is thought to have plunged into Bantam Lake, WFSB –TV, Hartford, Conn., reported.

Police said emergency responders gave up the search to locate the object after a few hours.

The “size of a whale witnesses” are now said to be waiting at Bantam Lake for the Great Pumpkin.

Might Want to Kick the Tires Next Time

Police say a San Angelo woman crashed a stolen pickup into San Angelo police headquarters tonight. The incident happened after a chase that began in the 18-hundred block of West Beauregard.

Police say Amanda Jeffries, 27, took a white pickup truck--and, after the theft was confirmed with the owner-- police pursued Jeffries driving the stolen truck for about four minutes down Beauregard.

The chase ended when Jeffries smashed into the administration offices of the downtown San Angelo police headquarters.

According to the police, Jeffries was driving without one of the truck’s tires.

Sounds like she was hell on three wheels.

Zombie News
Originally reported by United Press International

New York state police said a man shot his girlfriend during a fight over whether a zombie outbreak as seen on AMC’s “The Walking Dead” could actually happen.

Nassau County Detective Lt. Raymond Cote said Jared Gurman, 26, argued via text messages with his girlfriend, Jessica Gelderman, 27, about the possibility of a zombie uprising.

Cote said Gelderman became worried about Gurman, as the argument became heated, and she decided to go to his Williston Park home to calm him down, the report said.

Gelderman attempted to talk to Gurman and enter his home, but he shot her with a .22-caliber rifle, police said.

Gurman drove Gelderman to the hospital, where she was treated for a shattered rib, a pierced lung and a pierced diaphragm. So much for “calming him down.”

The Naked Bathtub
Originally reported by United Press International

Authorities said Tuesday a local TV weatherman was found asleep in a bathtub with a naked dead man.

Weatherman Brett Cummins, 33, was sleeping in a dry bathtub next to Dexter Paul Williams, 24. After Brett awoke, according to police statement, he discovered that Dexter was not awake and his face was a different color.

Police said Cummins was not at the scene when officers arrived, but returned shortly to give a statement.

Cummins had gone to get his pointer; his statement began: “It was a dark and stormy night…”
